The Belar FMM-2 FM modulation monitor is a wideband, solid-state precision FM monitor designed to measure the total modulation characteristics of monaural and multiplexed FM transmitters. The Model FMM-2 is also used as a low-distortion, low-noise FM demodulator to drive the complementary stereo and SCA monitors, as well as providing audio outputs for aural monitoring and test performance measurements.
The FMM-2 model has set new standards in fully accurate measurement techniques. Using such advanced design features as an ultra-linear digital discriminator, a near distortion-free and absolutely flat baseband signal is produced to ensure accurate stereo and SCA decoding.
In addition to the normal FCC-defined half-peak measurement, the FMM-2 incorporates a modulation peak measurement circuit with sample hold, independent of modulation polarity, to enable the meter to respond accurately to programme peaks.
