The new cost-effective BARIX SIP OPUS MA400 codec combines the dynamic flexibility and ease of SIP-based trunking with the quality and efficiency of the open Opus audio compression format. The SIP Opus Codec devices encode or decode audio signals using the open standard Opus codec, a royalty-free audio compression format known for its exceptional quality and reliability in the interactive transmission of voice and music over the Internet.
The devices build on the quality, efficiency and low latency of the Opus codec with SIP functionality to establish seamless links over SIP-compatible phones or other IP-based communication systems. Ideal for remote contribution applications, the SIP functionality of Barix units allows them to dial another device or accept an incoming call and automatically negotiate a transmission link for Opus-based audio streaming. In addition to remote transmission links, Opus SIP codecs offer a reliable, high-quality solution for studio-to-studio (SSL) and studio-to-transmitter (STL) applications at a cost-effective price.
Built on Barix’s state-of-the-art, high-performance IPAM 400 audio module, the SIP Opus Codec devices are available in two powerful models. The mono, bi-directional MA400 SIP OPUS CODEC is PoE-powered and features analogue microphone or line-level input and 5W 8-ohm or line-level output.
