The Omnia MPX Node is the first purpose-built hardware codec capable of sending or receiving full FM signals at data rates as low as 320 kbps, using the Omnia MPX algorithm. The encoder takes an analogue composite FM signal as input and converts it into a routable IP stream, while the decoder does the reverse. Ideal for networks with limited capacity (including IP radios).
By transporting a composite FM signal instead of left/right audio, broadcasters can keep their on-air processing and RDS encoding in the studio, and then deliver a broadcast-ready, peak-controlled, multiplexed FM signal directly to one or more FM transmitters without the need for transmitter-side peak limiting or stereo generation. MPX Node’s HTML 5 web GUI allows easy browser-based control using a laptop, tablet or smartphone. 5 GPIO inputs and 5 GPIO outputs allow for flexible remote control. 1/2 RU form factor and external 12V power supply with locking connector. Rack mount kit included.
